Pipes have been used to smoke all types of substances around the world for thousands of years. In the Middle East people have smoked hashish since around 1500 BC. In Africa people used pipes to smoke hemp and in the Americas people smoked Tobacco long before explorers arrived. Many medical herbs around the world were consumed by smoking a pipe or water bong. Tobacco pipes were extremely popular in Europe and became a necessity in daily life starting as early as the 16th century.

Tabacco pipes can be used to smoke other substances including weed. One of the biggest differences between a pipe used for tobacco and a pipe used for weed is the size of the bowl and the carb hole which is not located on a Tobacco Pipe. The carb hole allows air to enter the chamber to make the hit less harsh. With a Tobacco Pipe there is no need for a hole because each hit you take is small and gentle.

When smoking outside at one point in time you may have struggled to get your weed to light up. With a Tobacco pipe this is not a problem because the bowl is so deep it blocks all air from blowing away your spark.

Tobacco Pipes are made of a variety of woods including: meerschaum, corncob, pear-wood, and even other materials like clay and glass. Prices vary and can be as low as$10 to well over $1000 dollars USD depending on the material and brand. Here at Freeze Pipe we offer a type of Pipe that has evolved from the tobacco pipe that is made of glass. One of the greatest features of a tobacco pipe is that each hit is smooth. Unlike a tobacco pipe you put our pipe in a freezer to cool the chamber which then allows for smooth hits.
